A sculptural relief composition by artist Sergio Camargo, titled Relief 329 (1970), sold for $302,500 at a Contemporary Art Auction held May 14 by Bonhams in New York City. Also, an ethereal acrylic style investigation into color and space from 1990 by Helen Frankenthaler, titled Red Shift, also went for $302,500; an eerie vision of a tree-lined park by Jules de Balincourt, titled New Sensitivity (2006) made $105,700; and a geometric gouache on paper by Alexander Calder, titled Le Canal (1975) hit $104,500. Prices include a 20 percent buyer’s premium.
