A metal sculpture by Andy Warhol (1928-1987), titled Dollar Sign, artist-signed, dated 1981, sold for $52,000 at a sale of Studio 54 photographs and memorabilia from the estate of the late Steve Rubell held January 19 by Palm Beach Modern Auctions in West Palm Beach, Florida. Also, a cocktail table in the manner of Gio Ponti (It., 1891-1979) brought $40,800; and a silver-plated brass and wood tea table (circa 1960) by Maria Pergay (Fr., b. 1931) hit $19,200. Prices include a 20 percent buyer’s premium (in-house and phone), or 23 percent (for online bidders).
